When was Adventure Trans Himalayan Treks & Expeditions Inc. found?
In year of 2000 a team of longtime Trekking guides founded the Adventure Trans Himalayan Treks & Expedition Inc. We are all experts in Tourism Industry and renowned professionals in our specific field with years of valuable experience. We are committed to delivering our services to our all of our valued clients. We specialize in organizing both camping and lodge treks, depending on what you are interested in. Additionally we organize special cultural tours in isolated villages providing opportunities to study and learn more about the socio-economic cultural practices of remote Nepal.
Guides: Our guides are all highly qualified and speak many different languages. All of them have years of experience and an intimate knowledge about every part of the Himalayas. This allows them to lead trips as professionals and put your satisfaction first. Outside of Nepal we work with only the best local travel operators in Tibet, Bhutan and India.
About the environmental issues: Our wonderful Himalayan environment is extremely fragile and unfortunately increasing local population densities and increased numbers of trekkers threatens to destroy the natural beauty of the Himalayas. Because this natural beauty is what attracts us in the first place we are extremely conscious of everything we do and always try our best to preserve the natural beauty of the Himalayas.
Deforestation is one of the biggest environmental threats in the Himalaya regions. Because of this we extremely careful do not allow campfires at camp and use only kerosene and gas stoves for cooking. We also discourage trekkers from using wood fuelled hot showers in the lodges during their entire trips. However, now many lodges have solar hot showers, providing a more eco friendly alternative.
Rubbish: Rubbish and other garbage along the trail is also a major concern here in Nepal. Our local staff is well educated and extremely motivated to practice eco friendly activities. Items that burn well are burned at camp before we leave and anything that is unburnable we carry back to Kathmandu. Our aim is to protect and preserve our Himalayan environment for many future generations.
Caring to porters and staffs: We run our treks according to the guidelines of the IPPG. For those who are going above the tree line we provide quality clothing and equipment to our porters and staff.
Philosophy: Our philosophy centers around service-minded practices while operating our adventures trips. We always ensure quality and safety at reasonable costs, giving utmost care and respect to nature and the environment. Also we are involved in numerous social service activities because of the great gratitude we receive from our valued and respected clients. First we are aiming to help the people of Hile kharka village, one of the back-ward typical GURUNG villages in the central part of Nepal. Our current plans include scholarships for low-income family children, helping the disabled, providing free quality health care, water supply and adult education. This is the framework we are hoping to expand to other rural part of Nepal as well. For this purpose, we have established a Development Fund by donating 1% of our profits to these causes. We also welcome any size contribution, if some one wishes to sponsor one of the low-income family kid’s education. Your small contribution will help to build his/her great future. ATH Team
